Since the agent often runs with the privileges of the user who installed it (and rarely in a sandboxed environment), the attacker can instruct the bot to "read /etc/passwd" or "upload my private key to this external server." In some cases, Remote Code Execution (RCE) is possible, allowing the attacker to install persistent backdoors or ransomware, effectively turning the user's helpful assistant into a malicious insider.
